Week 8 Progress

So it’s been a few months… and I have a first draft of another book done. Currently halfway through editing a second draft of it, so I can toss it to some friendly neighborhood readers! I also joined twitter for a pitching event, which was interesting because I got to see other author’s queries and book concepts and go “wow! There’s going to be some cool stuff out there soon from these gals!”

About 5 months into querying Relic Thieves, my New Adult Romantasy book at 120,000 words, and no bites. 53 queries sent out, and 20 rejections so far. But I wanted to give this book a last shot before I fully move on. I’m not giving up- I’m just learning that the market moves really quickly, and it may not be this book’s time.

Huzzah, ladies, and keep writing! With the New Year, I know a lot of people are prepping for the trenches, and I wish you gals all the broken legs you can have!

Meg Keenan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University in Theatre with a minor in Psychology, which has built her foundations of dramatic writing and storytelling that seeks to emulate real people’s inner conflict and motivations.
